Excellent ways to take in Independence Day in Myrtle Beach

The Grand Strand comes alive for July 4 in big ways.

Myrtle Beach celebrates much of the summer with displays. And Independence Day is the Super Bowl of events. What’s more American than a beach trip, fun in the sun, and fireworks at night? You have plenty of choices when you hit the coast for the holiday.

Here are a few ideas to add to your vacation plans.

Fun Facts About Independence Day

Our nation’s birthday has a rich history all its own.

  1. France helped out the U.S.

America won its independence with a little help from France. The French also sent us the Statue of Liberty as a symbol of freedom. The landmark’s official name is “Liberty Enlightening the World.”

  1. The Declaration of Independence wasn’t signed on July 4

The Continental Congress approved the document that day, but you know congress. Most signatories didn’t put their John Hancock on it until August.

  1. Canada does it too

Their day is July 1. They might do things a little differently, but they’re all in favor of a long weekend for celebrating, too.

Head to Myrtle Beach for Independence Day

There are so many displays in Myrtle Beach for this festive day. At least four in town, in fact. All around town, from balconies and ballfields and beach blankets, you have many spots to see them all.
