After working hard all year, it’s time for some rest and relaxation with a much-needed break from the daily grind. Labor Day is the perfect time to escape to Myrtle Beach for the long holiday weekend. Here are some activities and events, along with tips and tricks to keep in mind as you plan your getaway.
On Sunday, September 5th from 6 pm to 7:45 pm you can celebrate your extra day off by lacing up your running shoes for a few laps around the gorgeous sculpture gardens of Brookgreen Gardens. Cost is $35 for non-members and free for members.
With Monday off you can stay out late and enjoy a few drinks and live music oceanfront at Tin Roof’s third annual Labor Day Bash. Celebrate the next day at their 90’s theme pool party with live music kicking off at 6 pm with the Joey Calderaio Band. DJ Rick Spinz will takeover in the evening, playing poolside hits from the ’90s all night long.
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans will be taking on the Lynchburg Hillcats on Sunday, September 5th at 7:05 pm. Military personnel and First responders will receive a discount when they show a badge/ID. After the game, make sure to stick around for the post-game Labor Day firework show.
Celebrate a day away from clocking into work with sparkling lights filling the night sky. There are two chances to catch a firework show including:
Barefoot Landing on Saturday, September 4th at 10 pm
Broadway at the Beach on Sunday, September 5th at 10 pm
If you’re fond of sipping craft beer, you’ll be happy to hear that Myrtle Beach is the newest hot spot on the craft beer scene. Besides the longstanding New South Brewing, three new breweries have recently taken up residency including Crooked Hammock Brewery, Tidal Creek Brewhouse, and Grand Strand Brewing Company. From swinging on wooden swings at the Crooked Hammock brewery bar to playing oversized lawn games at Grand Strand Brewing Company, check out this blog to find out what all the buzz is about with these new breweries.
Disconnect and venture away from the shore with Glass Bottom Kayak Tours in North Myrtle Beach. During the holiday weekend, they’re offering their Private Island Kayak & Shelling Tour which allows you to paddle out in a Glass Bottom kayak or single kayak and learn all about an undeveloped barrier island and all of its beautiful shells.
After you hit the links, grab your friends and tee up at Topgolf, Myrtle Beach’s premier entertainment destination. With three levels to play on, you can choose from a variety of games including Quick 9, TopShot, TopScore, and more. Rain or shine, Topgolf is one activity that everyone in the group will enjoy.
Be patient as you travel around the Grand Strand during Labor Day weekend. With the influx of people, you will most likely encounter traffic as you visit popular restaurants and areas of entertainment. The key is to remain patient and leave for your destination early.
Your safety is important and mask regulations are constantly changing. Come prepared for any indoor activities and restaurants by packing a mask, just in case.
The only way to make sure you get the oceanfront room you want at the resort you love is to book now. Brittain Resorts and Hotels offers accommodations for every size group and budget. There are kid-friendly resorts like Compass Cove with endless pools and an oasis for couples like The Strand.
